Data collection ranges from – vehicle speed, vehicle direction, time/date stamp, vehicle type, vehicle size, vehicle color, vehicle licence plate, traffic congestion and road weather conditions.
WHAT ARE RADAR SPEED SIGNS?
Radar Speed Signs are also known as Speed Advisory Signs, Speed Awareness Signs, or even Vehicle Activated Signs; all which can either be trailer mounted for multiple site deployment, post mounted for permanent traffic calming solutions, or tripod mounted for quick temporary deployment solutions.
The objective of a Radar Speed Sign is to provide a effective traffic calming solution, by displaying customized messages to drivers based on the speed that the driver is captured travelling.

Custom Message Display Configurations
As the LED Screen is the main visual feature of any Radar Speed Sign, it is important that the LED Screen can be customized to suit individual state/territory legislation, in terms of what and how information can be displayed as a complying road sign. There are three types of message content that are able to be displayed on a Radar Speed Sign – Vehicle captured speed, custom text message and custom emoji/image. The Digital Vortec Radar Speed Sign allows users to fully customize what information is displayed on the LED Screen, from message content to message format such as font colour, font size, font style, message animation, message display timings, and screen brightness, in any of the below configurations.

Remote Configuration via Cloud CMS
All data collection can be analyzed live with custom graphs and reports via the Cloud CMS, comparing multiple deployment sites or past captured data, with ML (machine learning) features for predicting future traffic behavior of individual vehicles. Identifiable data collection of vehicles (licence plates) can be configured as either anonymous data or identifiable data; ideal for government departments concerned about the collection and usage of identifiable data under Australian privacy laws.

WIFI Coms Connection
Radar Speed Signs deployed at locations that are in range of a Local WIFI Network, can be connected to the Cloud CMS for ease of use and data monitoring, without the cost of 4G.
LoRa Coms Connection
LoRa (Long Range Radio) communication provides Cloud CMS Connection to Radar Speed Signs deployed up to 10klms from a WIFI Network, again avoiding Cellular costs.
4G Coms Connection
Deployment sites that do not have WIFI Network or that are not suitable for LoRa communication, our 4G industrial modems can provide remote device communication.
Radar Speed Sign | Deployment Options
Radar Speed Signs can be deployed quickly for temporary use on our purpose made tripod kits, with its compact design allowing for easy transportation in any vehicles trunk; or for roadwork services and mining sites that require a more secure temporary mounting that also offers continuous operation with the use of solar charging of larger battery packs, our robust trailer units make the perfect option for roadworks and mining sites.
For deployment sites that require permanent installations, our unique three piece post mounting kit is designed for one person assembly and erection, without the use of ladders or boom lift. The post mount kit offers internal battery storage of two 50amp lithium-ion batteries and one 350watt solar panel for continuous operation, and internal cabling for security and protection.

AI Traffic Hardware Solutions
Simultaneous multiple target detection across four lanes of traffic using 3D MIMO Radar, integrated with Licence Plate Recognition and Radar Video Fusion for identification of overspeed vehicles.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine can be customized to identify/report various traffic behavior infringements – failure to stop, unauthorized U-Turn, fail to giveway, lane crossing, wrong turn, and more.
